I purchased a new CG Trophy back in April. No problems whatsoever, until I happened to read (and pay attention to) the specs for this pistol on the Colt web site. It states that the gun is supplied with 8 + 1 round capacity magazines. Mine had only the standard Colt 7 round mags. (I was at the gun shop when the pistol was unboxed, so there were no shenanigans going on at that level.)

Has anyone else experienced this situation?

Mine came with one 8 round mag and one 7 round mag. My gun is stainless if that matters.

Mine is stainless as well....fortunately I prefer the 7 round mags. Just sorta odd.

in the manual

it says that its to come with one eight round, and one seven round, one very lite recoil spring painted green at the end, and another stronger spring, there idea , i guess, was the 7 round went with the lite wadcutter load spring, and the eight round spring goes with the heavy sping, (heavy - 230load), i read this in the owners manual, my gold cup came with two eight round, no seven.

Mine came with a 7 and an 8.... I'd be happy to swap an 8 for your 7

Actually I think you are better off with the 7's, my Colt 8 rounders have been less than steller.
