Is there really that big of a difference? Is it worth the extra money? Would it not be better to just pick up a custom and have it worked over lightly... I am thinking about getting one of the New Series I guns, but can't decide between the two. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You want adjustable sights? You're right to wonder about the difference. Some of the best Kimbers I've held were the basic Customs. If you want to replace the questionable MIM parts and just smooth everything out, you'll have a great pistol!

Fixed sight model. The premium versions don't justify the extra cost IMO. If you really want Bo-Mars on a Kimber in the future a gunsmith only needs to do a little extra machining to the slide.

FedDC,
Get the Custom. The best value in Kimber's lineup are the basic model guns like the Custom. Anything above and beyond is fluff and puff.
