The External extractor is not a std 1911 part.
Nor the Ser 80 screw to hold the plunger, unique to SIG.

The slide is dimensionally internally the same as a 1911
the outside is unique to SIG or Sig esq.

The price?
the vendors that make and made parts for the gun were all hi quality part makers. The Slide is made by SIG, the Gutz are made by well known 1911 vendors and at retail if you add the parts and slide frame and barrel the gun is a very good value.

Two questions:
1. How is the firing pin safety different? (Anybody have pictures?)
2. Will the GSR have problems fitting into holsters?
