Time to pick up another 38 Super, can't figure out which one. Choice between Dan Wesson Guardian and Springfield Custom Carry, what say you 38 Super shooters.

Interesting thread.

I've thinking for a long time about wanting a 38super CCO
type pistol. I know Les Baer makes the Stinger, but it's a
little out of my price range.

I've been considering a SA Range Officer Compact & having
a barrel fitted for it & then I notice your thread here.

I went to Springfield's website & tried to download the price
and build sheet, but for some reason, I'm getting a bunch of
from that, maybe a bad link.

any further info from anyone would be appreciated.

The SA will come out of their custom shop, so attention to detail may be a bit better with the SA.

Since it is coming out of their custom shop, don't expect to get it very quickly, whereas the DW will be readily available.

I would go with the DW myself, and you might get it for less if you shop a lot.

Personally I find 5" models much more pleasant and less picky than commander sized models. It may be a relatively small sample, but my 5" models have run on anything, but commanders were much more picky and ended up getting sold. The muzzle blast which seems tame on a 5" becomes more pronounced as well.
