I am partial to the Ares Gear Aegis Belt. It is made from very stiff scuba webbing and has a bombproof infinitely adjustable buckle. Fits true to size.

If you want a leather belt check out this link to The Ultimate Gun Belt. I do not own one but after perusing the wealth of info on the website I am intrigued. They have many carry specific options and you can have holes spaced at 3/4" rather than the traditional 1"

I have 2 Uncle mike's trainer belts and two of these..... had them since they were $20gun belts...

+1 on the 30
Been wearing the same one daily for a cupla years. I don't see how a leather belt could get any better. They also have an eBay store where you may save some money on shipping

I'd never heard of them. The steel-core belts for $46.99 look like decent leather, but moreover, the edges look nicely finished. You don't get that on some bets that go for quite a bit more (one reason I'm not a fan of the MagPul belts).

my 2 are beautifully finished and sturdy. I don’t think they had the steel core when I got mine, could be a nice option.

I bought a 30 Dollar gun belt 5 years ago and am still waiting for it to change in anyway. Nope. It will still pull a 5 in Govt. in an Ernie Hill rig in snug and hold it right there - all day long. It's a very good piece of leather. Clint Smith says leather is why God gave us cows.... Nothing else comes close to leather.

Some general comments in no particular order...

Milt Sparks makes a great leather belt.

I don't have any direct experience with the ratcheting belts but I've seen several complaints about them not holding up...the underside of the belt where the track is. No idea if this is true or not but something to look at.

I've been running an Ares Gear Enhanced belt for the last six years. It's been excellent and should easily go another six years. Note that their buckles are now polymer instead of stainless steel. They are also VERY stiff. Some folks may find them too stiff. YMMV. However, once you switch from traditional belt holes...which never seem to be in quite the right place and have a tendency to stretch a bit over time...to an infinitely adjustable belt, you will NEVER want to go back to traditional holes again.

I like the belts from this place:
I own a few. If you want a less expensive belt one of my buddies swears by these:

My old leather gun belt is about time to retire, I have been wearing it basically everyday as my belt and gun belt for like 10 years now and it feels like it's getting a bit floppy. It's a single layer leather a little over a 1/8" thick. It has served me well, but I would like to buy a new one. I like leather, but some of these nylon woven ones with the ratcheting buckles seem nice. I'm also thinking a little thicker would be better to hold the 45 CCO. I was looking at these two: EDC-BELTS and Heavy-Duty Gun Belt . Thoughts on either of these or some other good ideas that are priced similarly? Thanks

Wilderness tactical has been my go to belt before and after I retired. I like their five stitch FDE or coyote in 1.75 width. It is wide enough to balance my 1911's or my most current EDC, Glock gen5 model 19 with a spare magazine. I have been using a Galco Avenger for the Glocks and a Davis Liberty for the 1911's. I think Wilderness also offers a belt with a insert to make the belt more rigid. Good luck.
What you say about Wilderness is true, except that what they call FDE or Coyote is actually just tan or khaki, not nearly as dark as one would expect coyote to be. And the 5.11 version is a decent substitute, and is available in actual coyote color. Wilderness has a similar problem to that of Midway: they make great stuff, but somebody there is either colorblind or just doesn't mind lying about the color of items; neither outfit can be trusted to deliver the color you think you're ordering.

I wear a leather belt in cold/temperate weather and a nylon belt in hot weather. For leather, I'm still using the same Bob Mernickle belt I bought well over 10 yrs. ago; it shows hardly any wear (and I have a couple of holsters from the same maker). For nylon I favor Wilderness or 5.11 (but see my prior comment about Wilderness re color).

I've used the Super Bio belt for the last 4-5 years. I was looking for something not overly thick, so my cell phone would clip on. Normally I carry a Shield, but have used this with a Glock 23 also. No sagging with either IWB or OWB. And the belt looks as if I just bought it.

I just replaced my 40 year old Milt Sparks leather belt with a new Milt Sparks belt. These things are really comfortable for all day every day wear. The belt is curved in the back and I think this is what makes them so comfortable to wear. I carried a full size 1911 most of the time, and with this belt you hardly know it is there. Leather Belts - Milt Sparks . I saw the Groovelife belt adds. They say that their belts are made for tactical use. I ordered 1 and they are very thin. There is no way they would hold up to carrying a full size 1911 all day. I sent it back, and do not recommend them.
