Gunsmith in C.Taylor article?

Anyone remember reading a column in Combat Handguns or Guns & Weapons for Law Enforcement by Chuck Taylor sometime last year about a lightly customized 1911. I am trying to track down the article and the gunsmith, his name was Shawn something or other I think.

I know it is not much to go on, but I appreciate the help.
