Good looking Pistol!
H I me defense weapons
I took my nightstand pistol out and ran 2 mags of Sig 200g VCrowns out and did pretty well at 8 yds. I played with my grip and had 4 rounds out a bit. I am going to run a mag thru my 5.56 and a few thru my 20 GA. Auto loader. Just to make sure everything is ready at a moments notice.

Thanks Michael, I have 2 of these Sig Nightmare Carries and they have both been 100% since new. I can't figure out which one is more accurate, so I kept them both LOL I added this TLR 6 to it for night use if needed and It stays by the bedside. I have had them since 2013 or so and just don't want to sell one. Mike at MD Grips made the bark on Elk grips and they are just right.
I carry the other one as my #1 go to.

ALL of those bullet holes are "DRT"-probable, if they land in center mass.
MY HD and EDC load does not use V-Crowns, but I would expect them to work perfectly well, if appropriately directed and pushed fast enough.
I've been using the SAECO #58 215 gr. SWC-PC, over 7.0/Unique. The chronograph gave me 912 + 26 f/s, which is close to the old Jeff Cooper load. There's room to go faster, but this load is accurate, controllable, and does not depend on expansion for its fight-stopping effect (in truth, I guess no .45 ACP round DOES).
I guess one of the nicer things about the .45 ACP is that, if a round is powerful enough to reliably operate the slide, it's powerful enough PLUS some, for "social work".
Your pistol is gorgeous.

Thank you Kosh, My range load is 5.4g 231 and Summers 200g H&G68 clones, It is accurate in all my 45s and I do not feel undergunned with them or any 45 loads including 230 ball. I have been shooting this combo for several years now and just looked, I am getting about 890 fps in my 41/4" barrels. I intend to load some with Unique as I have lbs of it on hand as well. Thanks for your info.

I have 2 of these Sig Nightmare carries, My first one was picked out by a good buddy in Montana that had just retired from the Seals. He picked over a dozen 1911s and put this one in my hand and said it is all I would ever need if I just had one 1911 in my life. He looked over several Colts, Kimbers and Springfields and chose this one.

I haven't been shooting much lately and decided I needed to do a function check on my nightstand home defense pistol. It is pretty out and I just grabbed it and shot both full mags. It is doing just fine. My practice needs to increase substantially. lol and practice for a trip to Berryville in a couple months. 4 days of shooting and I am looking forward to it.

I spent most of my life flirting with that. I raised and trained horses most of my life and broke most of my bones at one point or another. Horses, motorcycles etc. I am really good at staying alive. Lots of practice.....All 14 of my shots done off the cuff so to speak were fight enders. I was mostly pleased, Mostly! Always room for improvement. I have reworked my grip and it is a work in progress. I was using the flat pad between my first and second knuckles on the front strap. Now I am taking a deeper grip with the 2nd joint on the FS and am getting a better grip. Now my medium triggers seem too short. Front strap checkering isn't so important to me nowI resemble that remark (speaking of food)
In another vein, I always told my students "practice does not make perfect - it makes permanent; if you practice getting killed, you can get really good at getting killed!"
