Series 80 Commander I just bought used.
I depressed the firing pin safety, pressed the firing pin in, and tried to slide the firing pin stop out.
It wouldn't budge.

What now?

If the firing pin is depressed enough to clear the hole in the firing pin stop, there's nothing but friction retaining the latter. When I have a sticky stop, I put the slide on the bench, then stick the tip of a drift or punch in the hole in the FPS, then with the other end of the punch also resting on the bench, I give the punch a rap with a mallet. On a Series 80, it may be something of a three-handed exercise.

Thank you, Sir. I thought that might be the deal, but didn't want to bang on it until I made sure I wasn't forgetting some other step.
