My new to me 1994 BHP is not firing reliably. I took it to the range for the 1st time this afternoon. The first 10 or so rounds fired fine, then it started misfiring. The primers appeared dented but not enough to set off the round. I 1st thought it was the ammo, surplus military, Santa Barbara. So I tried out Blazer, Fiocchi and Corbon, same problem, sometimes it fired, sometimes it didn't. I noticed when I picked up the pistol at my transfer dealer that the hammer does not go all the way down when decocked. Its lower than the half cock detent, but its not all the way into the slide. Any help pointing me in the right direction will be greatly appreciated. I have Mr. Camp's disassembly guide to help me out.

After posting on the gunsmithing section I was directed towards the hammer spring being the problem. Using Mr. Camps guide I was able to replace the spring. Everyone who has a BHP should buy this guide. Its outstanding!
