Can someone suggest a beaver tail grip safety that will match my Defender frame perfectly? I would like something with more or a "high ride" shape to it, but it would bug me to no end if it didn't match perfectly. Call it a touch of OCD. Thanks!
I've heard mixed reviews on the Wilson drop-in beavertails. I'm with you, though; I wish my Defender had a true beavertail instead of the duck-bill type.
Wow, quick responses, thanks guys. The Wilson was at the top of my list. I was just worried about it matching. I'm trying not to play with my Defender too much, once I start, I won't stop.
TheReeves, here is a pic of my Defender with the Wilson BT installed. It makes a big difference for me as I have smallish hands and this installed gives me a better grip. HTH, Preston
I have used the Wilson Drop In Grip Safety twice and it worked well. Not as good as a custom fit or as well as some Springfield TRPs', but functional. I wish Colt would bring back the "X" Series.
Those of you who installed the Drop In Wilson BT, did you have to fit it to your Defender? I'm having problems fitting mine and it looks like it might be the difference in size of the two tabs that go under the MSH. Just wondering what you guys had to do.
TheReeves,
I didn't install my own...but, I have seen instructions on the net somewhere and did think about doing it myself.
Because my Defender is for carry and I'm mechcanically challenged:biglaugh: I had it done at Colt's while they did some other work. Preston
