I had a 40 cal open class racegun built and I like the Laser-Cast 140 grain bullet, but can't find powder data for WW231. I'm looking to run 165 PF (1200 fps, 5" bbl) and 1.85" OAL. Can anyone help with the powder charge data?

Thanks

If you call Lazer-cast they have their own loading data on all the bullets they sell. But you have to ask them for a photo copy of it.

I cant find any data for the 140 gr bullet period, in any cartridge. I'm looking in the first edition Laser-Cast manual.

Lee lists 6.3 of 231 with a 150 jacketed bullet at 1150. That dose of 231 should get you pretty close to 1200 fps with a 140 lead bullet, with less pressure. You will have to chronograph to be sure.

Just for a data point, 5.2/231 pushes a 155 lswc to 970 in my Glock 22. If I push it faster than that, the Glock rifling doesn't hold and accuracy goes to pot. You should not have that problem with conventional rifling.
