I don't mean to sound sarcastic or come off the wrong way, but I'm a pretty new 1911forum user too. I found that if you use the "search" button, and spend some time doing research, you will do yourself a favor.
There is a lot of great advice on this board, but they expect posters to try to do a little work on their own so they are not writing the same replies over and over again.
If you have searched, and can't find the information you're looking for, then ask the questions...but be specific at the same time. Do you want to build a compact, commander size, etc? You can get a lot of different answers, and if you start off with a detailed question, you shouldn't have to spend a lot of time sifting through them.
Just my two cents and small piece of advice.
