The Dems are pushing it right down our throats thanks to their large majority. Please spare me all the "it'll never hold up in court" or "I will not comply" answers. Either we get what few friends we have left in the legislature to stop it or we're effed. The leftists couldn't care less about our Constitutional rights because they only believe in theirs.

I feel for you dsk, The anti-2A democrats just keep singing the same song over and over. They continue to ignore the fact criminals don't abide by Laws, so they intend to make criminals out of law-abiding citizens. Just like here in Illinois.
Good luck, sadly your State may be infested with too many liberal idiots that are fleeing California because this crap isn't working there.

For our Washington state members, please go the legislature's website to voice your concerns!!!!

The PERMIT TO PURCHASE is now scheduled in the Senate (SB-5232)
Public Hearing February 2, 8am in Law & Justice
An Unconstitutional Government Permission Slip to Exercise Your Fundamental Civil Right.

Requires a government permit before you can purchase ANY firearm. Includes training, proficiency tests, expensive classes, additional waiting periods at purchase, waiting for permit approval, fingerprinting, additional background checks, creates a registry of gun owners, eliminates out of state buyers, adds more waiting periods.
*There is no permitting system set up or funded.

*Oregon's BM114 Permit to Purchase is already wrapped up in FIVE separate lawsuits.
*Washington is rushing headlong into expensive court battles with a weak argument that fails Bruen's requirement of tradition of permit, as informed by text and tradition.
*When you purchase a firearm, you STILL go through the normal background check and delays!

These links sign you in DIRECTLY to the committee, so you voice will be counted! Most links/emails skip this part, this is important.

Sign directly into the hearing and leave your "CON" position

CSI

or send your written testimony to the committee

That certainly does stink. I wish all staunch 2A supporters would migrate to red states and reinforce their stronghold positions. Unfortunately, that's not economically practical for most folks if their work and livelihood is based in their home state.

What is happening is that the bluest states are driving wealthier Democrats to red states due to high crime rates and insanely high taxes. So we'll all be blue or purple soon. And the bluest states will eventually become de facto wellfare states when there is no one left to pay the taxes. I don't know what color that will paint them then.

The gunmakers and other manufactures have been doing this for a while now - moving to Free States.

The people, too. I'm in a Free State, and the amount of transplants is frankly rather alarming. "Don't New York My Florida" and "Don't Californicate My Florida" are things you see more and more on all sorts of vehicles now.

The lines are being drawn.. the board is being set. When will the game begin?

I don't live in WA., and I am tired of how they're treating Free People up there.

This can't keep going on.

The news report says that there was a "gathering going on". What kind of off the wall spin is that? Do they really mean an out-of-control drug induced gang bang party. Or just a meeting of the underrepresented at-risk youths.

No idea, but after Pelosi's husband was beaten senseless in his own home and the rest of it, I can't blame folks for wanting to evacuate. But the way they vote, they'll only make wherever they end up just like where they came from.

With the mess going on in NJ, I emailed literally every legislator in NJ at least 6x during their re-writing of the carry law in NJ. The law passed but is now waiting for a TRO.
You gents in Wa need to do the same thing. I know the commies don’t care, but I can’t see how these law makers think they can outlaw the most common and popular firearm in the country. It’s amazing that they have semi auto pistols included as an assault weapon.
What is ok for the common tax paying slob to use for self defense? A revolver or a sling shot..

Welcome to my hell…I see that our cancer is spreading thanks to those that flee this state and take their crap agenda with them…

Good luck…but I think their strategy is to just keep passing this kind of crap and worry about spending taxpayer money later to defend it.

I think you mean the reverse, but anyway: the only part of WA that matters is the Seattle area - the megaplexes on that side consider the rest of the state much like leeches consider - everything.. Lunch.

The big picture, the big one.

A dbl-action revolver will soon be an "assault weapon", and then soon after a single action revolver. ;)

You see where this is going?

Unfortunately people are stupid. They will support this kind of crap thinking it'll stop criminals, then the day they feel they need to get a gun to protect their family they'll go to the gun shop and actually be shocked find out the "permit to purchase" and waiting period thing applies to THEM too.

My post #4 solicited WA residents to go to the legislature's website and at least register a "CON" opinion: a written message would be a plus.

30 seconds to put in your "CON" or maybe 5 minutes to tell the state house and senate this bill is BS -- no one has responded. Crickets.

C'mon guys. I KNOW this forum is well represented in the Evergreen State.

I have a friend, who isn’t really anti-gun, but very politically liberal and thinks most gun control laws are good.

When the riots hit during covid lockdown and he lived in the suburbs, he got a little nervous that the riots might come to him (there were groups in the seattle area that were encouraging the rioters to go into the suburbs, but they only partially did). He wanted to know if things got any worse could he borrow a rifle and a handgun from me.

I told him no, basically because votes like his made it illegal for me to just let him borrow a weapon. But I did tell him he and his family were welcome to stay with mine if anything did look like it was spreading much more.

I was happily surprised to hear that he had changed his stance a bit.

There's only 5 options:

1) change the legislature
2) courts
3) will not comply
4) civil unrest / revolution / civil war
5) Be good Sheeple

Only options 2-3-4 are viable for the voting minority if you wish to keep the commie stuff out.
Option 6...leave the stinkin state and never look back.
