Greetings one and all,
I'm new to this forum, just got a brand new DW Pointman 7 last week and it is the very first 1911 I've ever owned.

I am very impressed with the quality of this pistol. Very tight and well fitted. It's far better than anything I've seen in its price range.

I'm a happy puppy even though I had a very strange problem right out of the box that prevented the last round in a mag from firing. Problem is solved now.

One question: The serial number begins with the letters SVN. Is that just a coincidence or does it stand for seven?

TIA,
Paul

Congrats on the purchase of your new Seven. Yes, SVN stands for Seven. The Seven was produced prior to the Patriot and after the Major. The pistol was considered the top of the Dan Wesson line. The number Seven represents "perfection" or "completion". I believe that is why Bob chose the name. They are very nice pistols.

Regards,
Sam
