Looking at picking up a used Hi Power and I've seen decent ones that date from the early 90s and then ones from 2003-2004. Would the later guns be better built or would the quality from the 90s models be better?

If you are asking which is stronger, will last longer etc...

The MKIII HiPowers have a cast frame, which is cast of harder steel than older BHPs. Supposedly, they made that change to handle the .40 better.

This change happened in 1993, I think. The cast frame is identifiable by having fore-aft grooves on the base of the grip frame, around the magwell.

As far as overall quality-
I have some from each time period and I'd say they were about equal.
