Got a CompTac holster and mag pouch that I used in a match a couple months ago. Sunny, hot weather. Plopped it in a range bag when I was done, haven't dug it out till now. Turns out all the metal screws in the holster and mag pouch have rusted! No idea how, never really thought about oiling up the screws on a holster.

Now how many people can say they have rusted a holster before? :biglaugh:

Possibly condensation formed on the hardware going from hot to cool then did its magic. ??

It actually doesn't take long for hardware to oxidize after getting wet; much depends on the metal/finish of course.

I had Comp-Tac holster screws rust up on me too, but it was due to my own neglect. I was fishing while carrying a .40 HK USP Compact in a Comp-Tac Ghurka when I slid and fell waist-deep into the water. I cleaned the pistol when I got home, but didn't even think about the holster tension screws, which had a very nice red coat of rust on them the next time I looked at them.
