Use Paint pens or paint on a toothpick-anything to get paint in the numbers. Let it dry then get Goof-Off, Goo Gone whatever and wipe off the excess. The paint will stay in the numbers.

Laq Stick from Brownells or from appliance repair places

Laq Stick from Brownells or from appliance repair places. Brownell's sells them and they are also used in assorted colors to fill in stove knobs and such by appliance repair shops.

I know this is totally dorky but oh well. I had been meaning to paint the numbers on the mags. This post got me going, I guess I got carried away. It does help identify the mags quickly though.

It looks like I need to buff out the green one a bit.

I have used this same technique on golf clubs and the paint remains after a few seasons whacking the ball around.
