I saw a reference to the possibility of cracking the slide of the MKIII, because of the drop safety cutout. Has anyone experienced this or seen it?

Thanks,
Steve

-on www.fnhipower.com. I posted a message there not too long ago. Mr. Camp even replied personally on this one. Check out his
assesment of it on www.hipowersandhandguns.com. From what I gather, excessive dry fire seems to be the culprit, but the first thing to go before the slide would be the firing pin retaining plate. They usually crack @ the 7:00 position. Heard one guy went thru 4 of 'em before the slide broke. Also, seems too rare to be of much concern. Perhaps a bad batch of slides also were to blame. Hope this helps.
