I bought a new Kimber CDP yesterday and fired about 200 rounds today of FMJ. While cleaning it tonight I noticed that the feed ramp is not very shiny. It has been polished (i think). In the middle of the feed ramp it is black where the bullet has been hitting the ramp. No amount of cleaning would remove the black. It has a black aluminum frame and appears as if it maybe it needs to be polished? Is this normal? It did feed flawlessly.

You will ruin an aluminum alloy feed ramp if you polish the microscopic depth hard surface off it. Clean it. Do not abrade or polish it.
