Is there any way to get a HP to drop the mag without yanking it out to do a reload. I just bought my first HP. Its a 94 vintage Practical 9mm with 13 round mags. Do the newer HPs have a drop free mag or are there any after market mags, or is there a internal adjustment like removing the mag disconnect?

The post ban HP factory mags (10 rounds) have an ejector spring built into the base.
These work great for IDPA, as you can only load 10 rounds per mag anyway. The ejector spring shoots the mag out under spring pressure.

If you're going to use the HP in IPSC, you could probably load the 10 rounder first, then reload with a hi cap.

I haven't. It's not slowed me down yet, so I don't see any reason to do it.
