For starters, try a difference mag. I've always had good luck with SA's stock mags. If you're getting FTE's, then you extractor needs some tuning.

FWIW, the HST and Gold Dot are two of the best bullets on the market.

I'm certainly no expert but Winchester RA45T 230g has worked in every single pistol I've tried it in regardless of manufacturer from 3" to 5" barrels. I haven't tried Gold Dot or Golden Sabre only because I never needed to.

Fit a 16# recoil spring (per spec for the M1911).

Remove the shock buffer.

Try a Metalform 7 (seven) round magazine The one with the round top follower.

Any one of the three should do it. The slide is either not fully recoiling (from too much spring or especially the shock buffer), or closing too fast and not giving the magazine time to feed.
