I just got a hi power, and I like it even more than my Colt. Man is it sweet. I'm becoming a 9mm convert just because of this gun.

Congrats! If you love it now, wait till you get more range time with it! If I could just get a little more accurate with mine, it would be my "go to" gun.

In addition to a Colt Govt Ser.70, I had an FN High Power for a long time. It was blued, had the standard wood grips, and that tiny thumb safety. I traded it off because I found it "boring" (i.e. I was used to shooting 357's on up, and 45's).

Years later, I had come to realize that paper numbers aside, the difference in effect between bullets going 100-200 fps were not important if they were directed (and penetrate) the right places. And that certain bullets do this better than others.
The HP is one of the best vehicles for doing this - and that shootability has put it at the top of my list.
