Howdy,

If an R/O writes "8/-14" on your IDPA classifier score sheet does that mean:
*You missed two shots (5x2 points) and four other points that hit, but missed the "-0"

Or:

*You dropped fourteen points INCLUDING the ten you dropped for missing the target twice.

Of course, they BOTH mean I have to spend more time at the range...

The first - 8 shots were counted and total points down were 14. If this is one of the stage-three targets, then 2 of the 10 he was looking for missed the target and of the remaining 8 there were 4 other points down. The 4 points down could have been -3 & -1, or 4 times -1.

it means 8 shots were counted ON paper. the other 2 must not have been there at all ( logical reasoning)<no i don't understand IDPA either> .. so you were assessed -5 for each Miss <mike> so there you have "8/-10"

i am going to assume you dropped one into the -3 zone and one into the -1 zone... it could have ben 4 in the -1 zone though. so with the points dropped out of the 0 zone you now have "8<hits on target>/-14<points down>
