FMJ XTP round nose ?

I'd enjoy seeing pics of those if you get time to take some pics and post them.

All I see is these: https://www.hornady.com/bullets/handgun/45-cal-451-200-gr-xtp#!/

And you reload 'em like everything else.

edit: make a DUMMY and insure it fits the cartridge gage as well as plunks in the barrel AND EXTRACTS AND EJECTS (those pesky cross-corner jams blow)

I think you'll be fine, all else equal. As an aspiring minimalist, I prefer 200 Gr Lead RNFP for reloading. It works well enough for me in both .45 ACP and .45 Colt with Accurate No 2.

What is the part number on the box? The box should be red as well. XTP bullets are made by Hornady.

Jon.
200 grains is 200 grains. What will be crucial is overall length - it will be different for every bullet and every gun. But it's worth finding. Your gun will feed, fire and eject 100% until your hands can't load any more magazines and the brass is knee deep. Load more of THAT!

NO! As other's have said, 200grains is 200 grains. The important thing to pay attention to is the Overall Length (OAL) of the round. Search this forum and read up about the "plunk" test. Basically, if it "plunks" you'll be fine.

The only variance as said above is the length and that’s why they specify the bullet type, it defines the seating depth (OAL) so a round nose will seat differently than a flat nose or an XTP profile, powder weight is defined by the bullet weight, as said 200g is 200g.

Makes a difference if it's plated/jacketed vs lead.
Other than that, yes; same weight, same charge.
I have never heard of or seen Hornady FMJ XTPs 200g or another weight. Maybe bullets got put in the wrong box. Weigh them to verify the 200g weight first. Then determine what bullets you have. Then load one to determine plunk and spin.

Pictures of box and bullets please

Think the OP means Jacketed XTP, and not Full Metal Jacket / FMJ!

The OP stated Round Nose
Hollow point bullets are generally longer in length and will seat deeper in the case, this will raise the pressure of the round. I would not use this load data to load non hollow point cartridge. as you will see a drop in pressure and have inaccurate load data. The exact opposite for loading hollow points to FMJRN, you will have a pressure spike and have other issues that could be hazardous to your well being.
When in doubt, ask the bullet manufacturer. Hornady will tell you what the COAL should be with that bullet. Powder charge about the same as any jacketed 200 grain bullet.

I wanna see how this one plays out!
HP’s do not have a round nose! They cannot, there’s a hole where the nose should be!!😆

Some pistols are sensitive to HP ammo depending on the shape but all should feed RN. I use cowboy 200 gr RNFP lead boolits in my 45acp and have no issues. Use the recommended starting load and go from there.
There is no free lunch when asking for specific loads. Use the Hornady manual and load for your bullets. Or check the Powder manufacturer for load data with your bullets XTPs are commonly used by most powder Manu. due to their accuracy and availability.
What works in my pistols may not be as good in your pistols.

I use 6.0g VV N320 with 200g XTPs
I use 5.8g W231 with 200g cast H&G 68s

Your results may vary
tombo, what is the purpose of these loads? Target, defense, plinking?
Doesn't look like he has bothered since posting this drivel.
