When I first joined this forum, I remember Ed was hesitant to offer a painted finish. Many of their products now have no resemblance to their catalog offerings from 15 years ago. I am not offering this as a negative, as companies need to evolve. As the proud owner of a Centennial, it just reminds me I need to order a stainless Kobra!

Not sure what you mean by painted. But the Special forces that I bought 10+ years ago is coated with something.
