Any experience with moly coated bullets for IPSC?

Wil Schuemann says it’s a big no-no. I coat all my rifle bullets from 17 to 375. I just don’t feel the need to coat 40K pistol bullets a year.

I think Doug Koenig was coating his 38 Super bullets for the Bianchi Cup. George?

Why does Wil say no?

Moly MAY be somewhat corrosive (according to Wil) and may be responsible for a short-term accuracy increase, but over time accuracy in general is degraded. I believe that even Wil admits that it was a very non-scientific test, however.
Wil Schuemann website has an article on shooting moly bullets. but before I read it, I shot about 10 or 15 thousand 124 grain moly coated lead bullets thru my supers and I didn't notice any ill effects. and yes i did push them to make major and shot them thru Schuemann hybricomp barrels. the only reason I stopped using them, is I cann't find any.
We need to make sure we're talking about the same thing. "Moly coated bullets" means jacketed bullets that have been coated with powdered moly. I believe that this is what Schuemann is warning against. I don't know anyone who shoots that type of bullet in their pistol. What is very popular is a plain, cast bullet that has been lubricated with a black polymer coating that does contain moly (Precision probably being the best-known brand). I've been shooting the latter, in 9mm, 10mm and .45 ACP for about three years, and have had nothing but excellent results. I've got maybe 10,000 rounds through a Schuemann .45 barrel, and as I commented in an earlier thread, the bore is mirror bright and doesn't even need to be cleaned.
The lead bullet is what I'm talking about. Thanks for the info.
