The thought of having a Ciener Commander 22 upper on a Colt LW Commander lower seems like it would be the ideal fun plinking and packing 22 companion. I would think that the whole gun would weigh like maybe 15 oz tops. Does anyone have a Ciener on a LW lower? And, why are all the plinking 22's like Ruger etc. so stinkin heavy?

I handled a full-sized lighweight frame with a Marvel conversion, and liked that a lot. Once weight drops below a certain point, I don't know how much difference another few ounces make. The difference between a 39oz GM and a 27oz Commander is considerable, but I don't know that I'd be able to tell the Commander from a 24oz OACP.

Yea...:D I have one of Ciener's Commander 22 conversions on a dedicated lightweight series 80 Commander frame.I love it!!!Mine took a little lapping to fit but now I can shoot the cheap Walmart 500 round boxes for about $9.00 and it runs like a champ. It is a great combo and one of my favorites.
