So I went to big 5 looking for a Ruger 10/22, and when I was snooping around I saw a Marlin 795 for half the price. I heard good things about it over in rimfirecentral, jsut wondering if anyone here owns it and what their impression of its reliability, accuracy, etc.

I have one and I love it. Way cheaper than a 10-22 and more accurate out of the box.

I've put a half a dozen bricks through it so far, no jams at all. Not even when shooting in a dusty sandpit. The only problem I had was the front sight screw loosened. Tightened it down, no problems since.

Of course, the first thing I did after buying it was to strip it completely, clean it out and lube with clean oil. Perhaps that's the trick?

I bought the 795 Stainless for my daughter and it is a great little gun.

It is accurate and fun to shoot. No problems with it at all.

I am thinking of buying one for myself.
