Thanks to Mr. Camp and all on the Forum who helped me with this decision. I just picked up a gorgeous 1990 vintage BHP Practical which I hope to show you below. It has a custom extended beavertail, a trigger job, magazine disconnect is long gone, the hammer is custom (or bobbed and reshaped, then jeweled) and a Novak sight has been installed. It is very minty and tight. Great trigger, with very little takeup and a crisp release. In short, I like it a lot. Hope I can post a pic.

LOL. I would sooner remove my you-know-what and send it to you. I am keeping BOTH!
Seriously, if anybody recognizes this hammer, I would appreciate knowing who made it. It may be someone's "commander" hammer that has been welded and then jeweled, but I doubt it. Looks like it was made that way. I sure do like it, though.
Didn't realize till after I bought the pistol that the extended Novak beavertail is a $400 modification.
