I'd really like to have some gunsmith's opinion on this type of barrel and it's installation method. Any foreseeable problems with timing, etc..

Thanks in advance

How about durability? Can those little bumps peen down faster than a standard fitted barrel?

Its a great barrel. Very accurate when fitted correctly. I`ve used them numerous times on the guns that I`ve built. I have one on my carry gun with about 12,000 rounds through it so far. Go for it.

I'm not a gunsmith, and don't even play one on TV, but I think the ez fit barrel is the greatest idea since slice bread, for the 1911 hobbyist. I've installed two of them, at my kitchen table, and the first one now has well over 5000 rounds through it. In some ways, I think it's better than a gunsmith fit barrel, as it uses a standard link - which should avoid timing problems associated with long links. The fitting pads don't get much abuse; mine appear more polished than peened.
