Background checks on all sales. So if I sell a gun to my best friend since middleschool, I have to take him to an FFL and make them run his information - even though I know more about his history of illegal activity than any police agency on the planet because I know what he's done that they never caught him for.

One handgun a month is back - as is the concealed handgun permit exemption.

Better report that lost or stolen firearm within 48 hours, otherwise you are the criminal. Funny, when I tried to report a firearm I inherited as stolen, the officers wouldn't bother taking the report as I hadn't thought to record the serial number of it. Seriously, who the hell steals a discontinued Savage 24 CS over/under 20 gauge/.22 LR that was made in the 1980s anyway? Sisters that do heroine apparently is who does that. I guess that would now make me the felon.

Increased penalty for 'recklessly leaving a firearm' around a person 14 or younger. Who defines what is and isn't reckless? How long is it gonna be before some concerned Karen reports a 13 year old hunter that made an Instagram post with his deer rifle that gets Mom & Dad locked up and 13 year old placed in foster care?

You left out the one about cities and localities being able to pass their own ordinances. Funny thing is though that none of them actually have done so. your own description of the lunacy of the theft reporting law is clear for all to see as a non starter.

The red flag thing will play out as it will and ultimately get struck down. No doubt you will feel safer in another state. We just flipped the legislature in two of the larger cities in the commonwealth. Just a signal of things to come.

I think we all agree there. The question is when is it time for the ballot box and when for the ammo box. I know my answer, but i tend to be easily excited. I need calmer, voices of reason if you will to contrast with. Helps keep me in check.

There is still hope for the ballot and jury boxes:

1. 2020 is developing into a magnifying lens that lets people more readily see the idiocy of the Left. Now not only did they lock down their people to a ridiculous degree, now their own cities are burning -- due to their own policies. Whether or not a majority of Democrats see the folly of the current way remains to be seen -- but we don't need all of them, we just need enough to flip the country to red.

2. There are already indications that a major flip is about to happen -- blue bastions in CA and VA flipped. Locals getting lucky, or portend of things to come this November?

3. Trump-appointed judges keep on coming (and keep on betraying us, but hey)

When will it be time for the ammo box? Impossible to predict. Keep making your ammo boxes bigger, all of you, and disperse and conceal some of it. We must educate ourselves on WWII (and later) resistance movements. Study Uncle Ho. Study the French and Dutch Resistances.

Uncle Ho gave us no end of grief, and they were just a ragtag band of fighters against the mightiest army the world had seen.

Just like we were, in 1775. A ragtag bunch of fighters against the mightiest army in the world. And we won. And so did Uncle Ho.

If it's our turn to boogaloo, we'll be facing the mightiest army in the world on our own soil. They *will* use the Insurrection Act, which means we'll be facing not just M16s (or whatever infantry rifle we have when boog starts) but we'll be facing Bradleys and Arbams', we'll be strafed and bombed by our own Air Force, the very one I served. That's what we'll be facing. That's what we'll have to defeat.

I'd rather do it at the soap, ballot and jury boxes. But I do have the ammo box too. We just can't allow things to deteriorate any further than they have! Their cities are on fire for almost a week now! If that's not a clear sign that the Great Society failed miserably, well, I dunno what it'll take for people to wake up!


This year of 2020, if we do the impossible -- turn out all the fence-sitters and stay-at-homers and all the 3rd-party-voters, we *can* make it a Republican government from stem to stern. But that'll be only temporary. We need to fix the rot.

That Convention of States *has* to happen. Perhaps 2020 is the catalyst for it. That I've gone so long ignorant of such a thing until it was pointed out to me by a forum member is inexcusable on my part. It speaks to it having *zero* traction and *zero* visibility. How come in al my searching and reading I didn't come across it? I'm not reading enough, obviously.

We also need a new political party, one more aligned with the Constitution and Conservatism. It's not the Republicans anymore. I think the real Republican party was murdered in the 70's or 80's. I can't tell the two apart at times.

Either we make a new party, or try to fix the broken Republican party. Too many RINOS.

You have your beliefs, I have mine. I don't believe it to be fantasy or gamer talk. I would think most of us saying things like that are well past being basement-dwelling gamers living with mommy and daddy.

What we believe may not square with yours. Do you deny that we're on the retreat? That our way of life, our way of thought, is deemed obsolete and to be gotten rid of? Do you deny that right now rich powerful people are seeking the end of the Republic and are actively doing things to bring it down, and make it into Europe Part II? Make us in the image of England or Canada or NZ or Australia or France?

We're trying to oppose that at the ballot box right now, and in the jury box when needed.

And when that fails? When all 50 states are Left, and the Governors in their offices tell you "No, you may not have guns anymore, you may no longer hunt, you may no longer say these words, do these things?"

Will you accept it? Will you remain impartial and passive? Will you comply? Will you resist? Will you join them instead of those who seek to be rid of that tyranny?

What will you do when your new Leftist overlords come to your house and demand you give them all your firearms and knives?

It's not a matter of "who are we going to shoot." It's a matter of how do we retain our rights and reclaim those we've lost.

Nobody is going for the ammo box just yet*. But a day might come when we have to. That's the part I think you're missing. No one's saying do it NOW. We're questioning when to do it.

The "who" is going to have to wait for the actual moment, when it arrives. I can tell you, however, that anyone coming to do me harm or to take / destroy my property is not going to have an easy time of it.


* it does seem that an awful lot of people went for the Molotov cocktail and rocks in the past few days. What's happening in the Leftist cities right now is more like the French revolution than our own was.

If you want to think this is just all idle boast, go right ahead. We won't call you when we need help.

The idea of a Constitutional Convention, with the trash we have in office and lobbying around the country, is downright terrifying.. Someone has a very bad idea of what it requires and entails.

A "Rollback" is way, way cheaper and easier.

We're not talking about shooting anybody, as much as actually doing something a little more than voting. You're okay with lockdowns and draconian gun laws? How about gun laws, coupled with lots and lots of rioting?

They enforced the lockdowns heavily, why? Because we let them. People were fined and arrested for opening their business. Now, looting like mad and not a cop to be seen.

It's pretty obvious to me that this is our fault. We've been playing by their rules for way too long when we never needed to. Push comes to shove the government won't do anything if there's enough of us. That's pretty clear.

Maybe it's finally time we be the men our founders thought we would be? Just a thought.

Well since you used the phrase "when is it time for the ballot box vs the ammo box".....why don't you tell us all what you intend to do when you decide to "use the ammo box"....Hyperbole??? Figure of speech??? Internet posturing???

Those are your words. Tell us your intent when you "use the ammo box"?
