I'm a bit concerned here...

At the range this AM while 'slamming' my Wilson 47D's home my slide "fell" into battery,
. I eliminated the mags as the problem source. After clearing the gun I locked the slide back and rather briskly 'tapped' it on the mag well. It falls into battery every time, #@!*-it!! I hope at worst all I have to do is get a new slide stop (Wilson). I thank you all in advance.

I think you're right...sounds like the stop may be out of spec - not going up in the slide notch deep enough - or maybe the back edge is rounded/wrong angle to get enough hold. I've seen some slide stop faces (the flat that is against the plunger tip) cut with a curve to them that keeps them from holding well in the slide notch. You might be able to take just enough off with a file to "square it" and make the old one work til the new arrives.

Also look at the actual notch in the slide to make sure it's cut correctly and not rounded out.

BTW, some guys would think that's a "feature"
...NOT!
