Has anyone had any trouble with the grip screw bushings? I was changing grips on a custom classic model yesterday and the hex grip screws were so tight that the whole bushing came out of the frame. I couldn't get the grip screw out of the bushing without holding it with pliers, so now the bushing is stripped. Looks like I'll be contacting Kimber support.

Also, can anyone suggest another source for the bushings, as Kimber charges $10 for handling on "small" orders?

Give Kimber a call and they will probably send you the replacment parts free. I stripped the mag latch and that's what they did for me.

Just a tip from the Gunsmith Forum, if this happens in the future, use red Loctite to resecure the bushing in the gun. Let it set overnight and in the morning remove the grip screw from the bushing.
