I have a Springfield and one of the things I didn't like was the two-piece full length guide rod. It usually required tightening every 30-50 rounds as it loved to come unscrewed. It probably made disassembly easier overall, but required an allen wrench which was annoying as I couldn't take it apart with no tools any longer. The Kimber I have has a one piece FLGR, but I am thinking of replacing it with a normal guide rod and spring plug, like John M. Browning designed.
