Hey folks... I have a question for you seasoned 1911 owners. I recently purchased a Kimber Pro Carry II and have put a couple hundred rounds through it. A friend of mine was shooting a Sig GSR and I noticed that 1) I shot much better with it, and 2) the sigs recoil felt unlike any other 1911. It felt almost as if the slide was racking back loosely and I dont know if that had anything to do with my ability to shoot better with the gun. I'm wondering if the spring(?) may have something to do with it. Any ideas/comments?

Thanks!!

These two pistols have some considerable differences.

The Pro Carry is a Government frame which will handle an 8 round mag... while the Sig has an officer's frame and maxes out at a 7 round mag. The barrrel of the Sig is a little longer too.. if you compare the weights... you'll fine the Kimber is lighter.... which may be why you shot the Sig. better
