I am working on my first 1911 build, and was able to purchase an entire Kimber Ultra TLE II assembly (minus frame) for a reasonable price and couldn’t pass it up. I am now finding out that the frame I purchased is not designed for the additional firing pin safety that these guns have. Is there a way around this safety so I can produce a functioning firearm? Perhaps a Wilson firing pin? Thanks.

Either remove the firing pin safety or install a pre Series 80 firing pin. Colt, Wilson, Brown, EGW. Brand does not matter.

Operating from memory on something that I either read...or...just made it up and thought I read it.

Doesn't the rear sight have to be removed from the slide to access the Kimber Swartz firing pin safety?
