Crimson Trace makes wood laminate grips that should be able to be bobtailed. There is no "circuitry" down at the bottom on their grips.

With the bobtail, it would also make it much more comfortable when having your cat chase the laser. :)

I did too-I'm the reader referred to in the "Gunblast" link. I used a bondo intended for auto bumpers-because it was black, had a flex agent in it, and came in a small size.

I touched up the finished cut with a black Sharpie. I hope the picture links work. I think it looks on the good side of acceptable, though I still wish CT would do it as a factory model.

The "Burlwood" CTs are molded plastic w/woodgrain and can be modified in exactly the same way although matching the color would be both more difficult and more conspicuous. Although there are those who like the wood-look CTs, they remind me too much of the "woody" station wagons of the '60s and '70s that were all vinyl contact paper framed by wood-grained fiberglass mouldings.:barf:
