Been thinking about a super-lightweight 1911. I've heard about lightening slides but I don't know exactly how it's done, how hard it is, or if there are serious issues. Anyone?
You should talk to Bob Londrigan of Brazos Custom. He can tell you a lot about lightening slides and how reducing the reciprocating mass can help speed cycle time and help minimize muzzle flip and felt recoil.
