Now that things have settled down . . . Just how many new IPSC shooters is everyone seeing, now that we have these new mag-ban-friendly divisions? Just as Limited slowly but surely overhauled Open as the dominant division (about 3:1 in our Section), L10 is cutting into Limited. Last weekend, we had twelve shooters in L10, and eleven in Limited. But, I don't recall any new shooters. The guys who had always shot single stacks in Limited (like me), are now shooting in L10, and some of the widebody guys are downloading their 16-20 round mags to ten, but I'm not seeing anyone with wide, ten-round mags. I thought L10 would be a de facto single stack division, because I couldn't imagine anyone with a half-dozen $100 mags, loading only ten rounds in them.
We had three new shooters at our last IDPA match; they were all shooting guns that are accommodated by the new USPSA divisions. I think temperament, more than equipment, determines who is shooting which sport.

Hey guys, I'm one of those who have a fat gun and shoot L-10 (once in a while). Anyone who is going to call me a gamer dosen't know me. When I started I had a single stack, sold it bought a SV .40 to be competitive. I'll be damned If I have to buy another gun to shoot in L-10 when the rules say I can. If you don't like it send Voight a letter.

My Guns

Para 45 set up for open class
SA 45 for limited 10 or idpa
HK USPc 40 for lim 10 or IDPA or whatever else it qualifies for. I may revamp my para for limited though.

Surfer, two questions. Are you shooting a single stack 40 or a fat gun? And is it you hits or times that have gone downhill with the 40? If it’s your times, is your gun running 100%?

The only reason I ask is that I am faster with a 40 single stack than I am with my 45 single stack. And my hits are better.

what he's trying not to say, is that he shot a, a, a, hell I've have a hard time saying it, a glock 35, and came pretty damn close to beating me with my open gun with it a couple of times, and is slowing returning to the dark side.

Oh now I get it, Glock vs 1911, not really 40 vs 45. Makes much more sense now.

Surfer, get a STI in 40, then compare your performance.

Tom it still is a little more than that, I did have a STI 40(that big mouth supercomp). But I could shoot the 45 better, cant explain it. Could be something like, more rounds I would just hose more than the less rounds in the 45. I was a hair off from the "M" but after the Sti it did hit the fan. The glock was just a phase, I'm over it now and back to the 1911, but tring a 45 again.
