I finally did it. I went to my favorite toy store last night with the intention of just making a payment on a new 1911. Not only did I do that but I walked out with a shiny new M1A. I'm as happy as a pig in snot!

The M1A is a classic rifle. I love the looks. Enjoy your new rifle and let us know how she shoots. A couple of pictures would be cool too :) .

Isn't it "a pig in SLOP?"
Enjoy your rifle, now go buy a case of Lake City surplus ammo for that weapon.

Me too. It took along time to find a walnut stock model for a resonable price. I will not think of buying a composite stock M1A. No offense meant to anyone who has one, but I am not going to be throwing this rifle around in mud, sand or anything else. If this where the case I would possibly want something better gripping than wood, but it is not the case and I prefer the classic M1A styling. This is what I picture in my mind as being a true classic M1A.
