Don't get GAP. You'll regret it unless you specifically want to collect a pistol in a somewhat rare caliber. Even .357 Sig and 10 mm are more popular, in my opinion. (No, I don't have a case study, but I've met several folks that have owned/carried .357 Sig/10 mm, but no GAPpers.)

Not trying to start a caliber war, just being realistic about getting your first .45 pistol.

thats why i said that i know its a war/history/marine pistol but most of us are not in the war were not in the war/still young 29 not yet history/and arent marines soooooo for those who are please enlighten me/us on what the 1911 is to you. for most i feel were enthusiasts.....
I'm referring to the Marines using the Kimber Warrior now, not the WWII Island Hoppers using an older Colt. (No, I'm not a Marine using a Kimber.)

Also, lighten up, I think folks are funning with ya'. Although, when you make statements, be prepared to back 'em up. No, I'm not challenging you to a fight or shootout, I mean "back 'em up" as in having support or facts.

I think one thing that will reduce the popularity of the GAP cartridge is the introduction of the XD-45 in ACP. There is one less pistol being purchased now, XD-45 in GAP, now that the ever-available ACP is now an option.
