I recently acquired this rifle from an estate sale and I can only say that the reason I bought it, was that I'd never seen or heard of it before, and it was really unusual looking. Details as follows:

Receiver Stamped on top: H&ARMS CO. LTD.
Drummondville, P.Q. Can.
Stamped on Left Side: RIFLE, SURVIVAL CAL.22 M4
Serial No: 26xx - Stamped on barrel & receiver
Bolt Action - 4 Shot detachable magazine
14 In. Detachable Barrel
Skeletonized Collapsable Stock
Skeletonized pistol Grip
Lyman 55H Rear Peap Sight Assembly.
Safety on Right Side of Receiver
Front Sight looks same as M-1 Carbine front sight.
Finish: Gray Parkerized

Calibre is .22 Hornet. Numrich Arms - Gunparts has it listed in
it's catalogue and parts are available for it.

However it appears that there is some mystery surrounding it,
as to when it was actually issued and to whom it was issued to.

Can anyone give me any info on this rifle? I haven't shot it yet, but plan to as the bore is in excellent condition and everthing seems to be tight & in order.

Hope you guys can help me out.

Thanks Karsten & E4MC

This rifle is also considered a "Restricted" firearm in Canada and
therefore it is registered in the same manner as handguns. One requires an Authorization to Transport (A.T.T.) in order to take it to the range to shoot it. It cannot be used for hunting, as Restricted firearms are strictly controlled and cannot be taken into the field for hunting. My rifle does not have any "U.S. Property" stamp on it, so it was not shipped back to the U.S.A. after production.

Does anyone have any information regarding H&R Arms Co.,
Drummondville, Ont. Can. as I've never heard that this company
existed before I found this rifle?

Any further info regarding the use of this rilfle, would be greatly appreciated.

I believe that's Harrington & Richardson. They've been around for a long time.
