On my commander project, I have an Ed Brown 'combat' extended mag release. It installs and operates just fine, but the magazine is exceedingly difficult to insert, with or without a round in it. I cannot get it in without pushing the release in.

What is the best way to adress this? I don't want to start taking too much off the width of the shelf that holds the magazine, for fear of going to far and rendering it unable to hold the magazine. Should I put a bit of a radius on the bottom of it?

Any suggestions would be most helpful.

I'd take a look at the mag catch and see where the shiny part is where the mag slides by. Polish the heck out of that area and it may solve the problem. If not, I'd have a look at the mag catch lever spring. It may have a burr, or even be too strong.
