I've been using the Wilson conversions in both Officers and Government mags for about 2 years with no adverse affects. other than the damage to the magwell I have never had any problems with the factory mags. I too would like to see this as a sticky, it would help a lot of newbies.

Hi Crodbum, I'm not albert but I think I can help. the new CDPs and hopefully all aluminum framed kimbers should have the new style follower with the extension like shown in Albert's pics. I believe that any mags with the one piece follower will be fine.

Pick up a couple of Wilson 47 or 47D or Metalform 7 or 8 rd mags and blast away. don't get rid of the Kimber and McCormick mags, go to Brownells and look for the Wilson Magazine conversion kits listed near the bottom of the page. you want kit C-45. the conversions are pretty easy to install, if I can do it....

Man, you got bit by the whole swarm of 1911 bugs! :biglaugh: The marks won't affect the performance, just cosmetics. Just don't use the Kimber or McCormick mags in the tactical and there won't be a problem.
