Looking to purchase a Meck-Tech carbine for my 1911. I notice that they sell one with a muzzle brake and one without. Anyone have any opinions on either one? I'm planning on one in .45. Also---best place to buy? Should I just get one direct from the company or is there a better way? Thanks. Alvin

I've only seen the ones with the brake so I can't comment on that. Buying directly from the manufacturer is the most expensive way because they're going to charge you list price. Do a web searh on your favorite search engine & you should do better. I recall seeing a dealer selling them for $279 plus shipping. IMHO these things are way over priced. Look at it this way....you're buying a gun without an action or sights for around $300. I can get a Mini 14 at a gun show for $360. No contest!

I've got one. They're fun but I wish I had bought a PC-9 instead.

The muzzle break doesn't do anything but protect the crown and get dirty. Accuracy at 100 yards with .45 ACP is no better than a Mini-14.

The cheapest price I found was $264 at concealco

or I'll sell you mine in excellent condition for $200.

Regards.
