I had a Springfield Stainless back in 1995 that was only reliable with ball ammo.

Someone told me that the 1990's guns were not as reliable as the newer ones.

Has anyone shot either the Mil-Spec or WWII Mil-Spec with hollowpoints? Are they reliable and mostly jam-free?

The only jams I've had with my WWII have been because of improper reloads.

Neither of my Milspecs (WWII and 2001) have choked on factory ammo.

My milspec likes hardball and two or three brands of JHP.

It doesn't like Hydroshocks, and it absolutely hates to be anthropormorphized.

Using wilson mags I've put 700 rohunds, mostly fmj but some jhp through my standard mil-spec with not a single hiccup.

I just sent it in to cylinder and slide for sights and trigger work but NO reliability upgrades.

I have two mill-specs. The oldest one - bought back in the early nineties - will feed anything. The newer one - bought last fall - only seems to choke on loads with very short bullets like target wadcutters. So far, it feeds ball, 230g JHPs, and 200g cast semi-wadcutters just fine.
