a friend of mine has a miroku Daly. I dont know the specifics but he says the threads are pulled in his receiver where the stock bolts to. I guess this bolt hole has something to do with the action or ejectors. He is of the opinion that this can only be fixed back east by a Daly repair guy. Is this the case or can it be repaired out west by a typical gunsmith. We are in Az.

I can gaurantee you that there are lots of qualified Smiths in AZ. I used to live in Tempe theres Mendells and Scottsdale shooting ctr. Mesa gun works, those are off the top of my head. I would just open the phone book and call and ask.
good luck

Are you referring to Mandell's in Scottsdale owned by one Martin Mandell, where good manners and old fashioned hospitality reign supreme? I think that Ted Yost in Tempe might be a better idea.
