I bought one of these a couple of months ago for $350. I like the gun, but I'm having a little trouble with it jamming on me. After 50 rounds or so it ejects the empty, but jams on the next round. A little lube on the slide and it works fine for another 50 or so rounds, then the same thing happens. I appreciate your comments.

Welcome aboard.Try replacing the recoil spring.A Gov't uses a 16lb spring,Commander 18lb in 45 cal.While you're at it,it wouldn't hurt to give her a strip and clean.Probably years of gunk in it.Hope this fixes you up.

PS.If that thing is in great shape, you got an excelent deal on it.

I agree with rex a new recoil spring will solve your problem. Some owners don't think of the replacement of these. So they get really worn and the gun jams. Also routine maintenance will prevent other problems.

The gun in in pretty good shape. The left side of the slide is scratched up, looks like a previous owner had it sliding around in a glove box or something, but I really like it. Thanks for the info.

Tboy,,,
Clean it up, or have it done and do replace the recoil spring as suggested, it will make a world of difference. The 16lb for the government and the 18lb for the Commander are correct ratings. I will also suggest a new magazine spring, you will be surprised how much this can help also. You can get it all from www.brownells.com or from Wolff at www.gunsprings.com they are the leader in gun springs. If you do get a new recoil spring it will come with a new heavy duty firing pin spring, use it too for safety sake. Good Luck and let us know
