An old friend of my Dad's gave me a Series 70 that was built by Plaxco in the late 70's to early 80's. Standard action pistol mods of the era, i.e. hard chrome frame, checkered front strap & trigger guard, blued slide, "BoMar" sights, etc.

I want to alter the frame a little. Undercut the trigger guard & blend the rear of the frame to fit the grip safety (the edges of the frame protrude past the grip safety now). Then get the frame re-chromed.

Would this be a foolish thing to do to this pistol?

Other than my knowledge of the pistol & the name on the magazine base pad, I have no proof that it is a Plaxco gun. So does it have any more value than any other modified Series 70?

Probably. I would leave it alone. Also, we'd all like to see pics.

Welcome aboard.

Fix it up to suit yourself unless a large check arrives from Robert.

That is an abomination and should definitely be fixed. I put it in the category of repair of a defective gun, not an option.
