I've mated Commander Slides to Officer frames in the past with no problems.
I figured I could do the same thing with my Commander XS slide and Defender frame to come up with a CCO.
Wouldn't work. There was a substantial gap between the dustcover of the frame and the slide.
What gives?
I always thought the Defender and the Officer's shared frame dimensions.

It will only work with the Officer ACP frame, which is not the same as the Defender frame. That is one reason why Colt no longer makes the CCO (Officer ACP frame discontinued).

Sam

My Officers barrel length is 3.5" and my Defender barrel length is 3" I have never heard of the length you described. How are you measuring the barrels?

I measured from the chamber to the end of the barrel and it actually was 3 1/8" on the Defender.

I always get messed up on the Officer's models vs. the Commander's models. You are correct that the Officer's are supposed to have a 3.5" barrel. It is the Commander that has the 4.25" barrel...
